University and Research Organizations

Every country but one in the world has become aware of the accelerating effects of industrial pollution on the world’s climate and the ensuing effects of global warming, but Greenland is at the epicenter of this very real and urgent crisis. While the rest of the world is grappling with increased temperatures at a very considerable rate, Greenland and Antarctica are experiencing some 3.5 times the rate of rising temperatures in these polar regions.

Greenland has a very impressive group of college, university and government funded organizations that study the causes and effects of these climatic changes, as well as the environment, both life forms and geologic formations in Greenland, as well. The list of most of the current groups and organizations that are active in Greenland and the Arctic region adjacent to the Island are listed here. We will be adding other institutions and academic sources to this list of resources as we are made aware of them, and encourage anyone who knows of a source to please let us know so we can add them to this resource.
